Amy's favorite jokes are the "interrupting cow" knock knock jokes. The original joke goes like this:
Amy: Knock knock.
Me: Who's there?
Amy: Interrupting Cow.
Me: Interrup-
Amy: Moo!
And a typical Amy variation:
Amy: Knock knock.
Me: Who's there?
Amy: Interrupting Car.
Me: Interrup-
Amy: Beep! Beep!

I’m at the dining room table with both kids on my lap. Amy is leaning way over to play with Jonathan, and I’m holding Amy’s waist to make sure they don’t both fall on the floor.
Amy: Hey! Hey! Don’t hold me like

Jonathan don’t fall on the floor.
Amy: You have to say
“please”.
Me: I don’t have to say please for
that!

Yesterday I was shopping for books with Amy and she told me she wanted this Salman Rushdie book, Haroun and the Sea of Stories. It's pretty obviously not age appropriate, but I've been getting sick of Disney stories, so I thought I'd give it a try.
The last two nights in a row, I read to Amy from her new big kid book. She says she really likes it and wants me to read it to her every day, but I can tell she's not all that interested. While I was reading tonight I could see her eyeing a Blue's Clues book and a Sesame Street magazine.
